Deer Valley, Utah Proposal at the Stein Eriksen Lodge
If you’re looking for the Utah experience why not propose during a blizzard?
If you’re finding this blog post, you might be looking at doing your proposal while visiting Utah. Or just going through my blogs. But whatever you’re here for, I highly recommend you spending time in Deer Valley during winter. From the skiing and luxurious hotels with each view having a unique part of the mountain range to show off. You really can’t miss an opportunity to see what this part of Utah has to offer.
But if you’re looking for photos on the slopes and at the lodges I would say you have to do it. Will had reached out to me a while prior to this shoot, letting me know he planned on proposing and wanted to have the stunning mountains as a backdrop. Utah tends to be unpredictable during the winter and spring with its weather and the day of was no exception; clear skies were the hope but a “blizzard” on top of the mountain might’ve been even better.
Park City boasts a walkable main street, fancy eats, and unique mountain views. But above all… crazy weather. So for Will he got the full Park City, Utah winter experience. I headed up the mountain and got into position on the deck at Stein Eriksen, with 10-degree weather and 20-mile-an-hour gusts of wind making me concerned for Will who was about to propose. But when they walked out there you could see his now fiance’s genuine joy and happiness couldn’t be put down by any weather. One of the more emotional proposals I’ve got to witness and if I wasn’t so cold I would’ve shed a tear along with them.
Will and his fiance were so full of joy, and I couldn’t imagine how meaningful the whole experience was for them. I was happy to capture yet another lovely couple getting ready in life to say their “I do’s” to one another.
